Welcome! We are a producer of hand-crafted wines called Zelanos.
Bulgaria is a small country in South Eastern Europe with several millennia of wine-making history. With a wealth of cooler climates and with several hundred small wineries (and more in the making), our country is a rising star in the wine world. Bulgaria can no doubt make world-class wines and we believe this is already happening.

Zelanos winery is near the Valley of the Roses — a beautiful place where the best rose oil in the world is crafted. It is a pristine environment with superbly-drained, mineral-rich soils ideal for growing grapes. We meticulously care for 70 hectares of own vineyards with the indigenous white Misket and the classic Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah.

To reflect the character of the land, we interfere as little as possible in the natural journey from grape to wine. In the vineyard the grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Only triple-examined grapes enter the fermentation tanks. This uncompromising philosophy goes into the wine-making itself with minimal handling and treatment so that the wine may sound entirely natural in the bottle.

In our state-of-the art winery we hand-craft 11 wines in two series — Zelanos and ‘Z’. The annual production is about 100,000 bottles; our first vintage is 2014. The wines show great mineral finesse, beautiful balance, texture and length. We believe that these wines are the future of Bulgarian wine-making.
